This Kabyle Berber Inspired Sherpa Blanket is an Amazigh Textile Throw created for everyday warmth, relaxation, reading, and colorful North African home styling. The rectangular Blanket combines a patterned smooth front with a soft cream Sherpa reverse, giving it a decorative face for display and a warmer textured side for comfort.
Materials and Fabric Construction
The Blanket is made from 100% polyester fibers. Its construction consists of 51.5% smooth surface fabric and 48.5% Sherpa fabric. The printed smooth side weighs 6.49 oz/yd² (220 g/m²), while the Sherpa backing weighs 7.08 oz/yd² (240 g/m²). Together, these surfaces create a practical Textile with distinctly different visual and tactile finishes.
Geometric Amazigh Textile Design
Prominent mustard-colored panels create strong focal areas within the geometric pattern. Fine cream linear forms cross these larger fields, while surrounding red and dark brown bands contain smaller repeated motifs. The combination of large shapes and tightly arranged details allows the Amazigh Textile Throw to remain visually expressive both when spread across furniture and when folded.
Printed Front and Sherpa Reverse
The front has a smooth printed surface that keeps the warm palette and detailed pattern clearly visible. Its strong horizontal arrangement emphasizes the width of the Blanket and gives the design an ordered, Textile-like appearance. The reverse changes completely in texture, using plush cream Sherpa with a soft, fluffy surface designed to provide additional warmth and comfort.

The design draws from the visual language associated with traditional Amazigh textiles from Algeria’s Kabylie region. Kabyle Berber Textile traditions provide the inspiration for its geometric organization, woven-stripe appearance, warm desert tones, and repeated visual rhythm. The Blanket uses these influences in a contemporary home Textile rather than presenting itself as a reproduction of a particular historical design.
This distinction gives the Kabyle Blanket a clear cultural reference while keeping its purpose modern and practical.
